I'm Greg ... rode a lot when I was a kid then got a car ... same story for a lot of folks. Last year I rediscovered my love of eating flies, getting covered in mud and having sore legs :D

    Hey, I'm Alex.

Stopped riding when I was 13 after taking up smoking instead. Having given up smoking last Christmas I'm now completely obsessed with MTB all over again!

    Hi Alex & welcome!
Same story for so many people, myself included. A couple of miles last year of huffing and puffing on my 17 year old GT Tempest and I'm hooked again!

    Hello there, I'm Alexandoy.

I'm a hobbyist rider due to lack of time but I am planning to join touring groups when I finally retire.

Hi all! I'm noodle. I live in New Zealand and only recently got into mountain biking. I tend to prefer more sedate rides at the moment but I'm looking forward to improving. It can be hard to find any decent tracks here in the winter as they get quite muddy. It's the first day of spring now though so it will be good to be out for more rides.

    Welcome to getoutandMTB

Touring is a fantastic way to see new places, that's one of the fantastic things about cycling, there is something for everyone :)

Riding is definitely nicer in better weather, wont be long and you'll be tearing round on dryer trails! First day of Autumn here and it's been raining lots this week so we're plenty muddy but at least its still warm (y)

@Greg The weather is really abysmal here at the moment too unfortunately! Hopefully this is the last of it though. It will take a little time for the tracks to be repaired but it will be worth it. There aren't any officially 'tended-to' tracks here, all the care is completed by volunteers. It can take a few weekends to get everything in order and ready for the influx of riders!

Hi am Frank. I like cycling as it is part of my exercises. I like keeping my body fit since that improves blood circulation. Cycling also improves my muscle strength. Am proud to join this forum to keep myself informed about new cycling tricks.

Just dropped in to say hello. You found me on Strava after the Brecon Beast ride hence now dropping in to say hello. I’m based in West Berks and ride usual stuff for the area ridgeway & Chilterns, although probably more rides in the south Chilterns!

Good website and will drop in again.

@Brian Hi & welcome. How did you get on at the Brecon Beast? I've been riding round the south Chilterns a lot recently, might well bump in to you one day!

Hi Everyone, I'm Steve from the UK. I'm a grizzled old 44 year old now but still indulge my passion for excitement and danger by taking part in downhill Mountain biking. I've been into downhill mountain biking for over 20 years and no longer jump quite as high or go quite as fast, but I still get an adrenaline rush every time I go out on my bike just the same as the very first time. Nice to meet you all.

Hi everyone. 28 year old getting back into mountain biking as of this summer. I must say, the things I could do when I was younger during rugged mountain biking is something I struggle to do now. Hopefully I will get back to my old self again soon. Look forward to chatting with you all. I hope to get to know you all better and exchange advice and stories!
