Well the weather forecast was for more favourable winds this year at the 2016 HoNC, 10-20 mph rather than the breezy 45mph winds last year! Sunny spells with the chance of a shower or two ... looks like it might have lashed it down the night before instead, loads of mud :arghh: but the day stayed precipitation free for the event and was pleasantly sunny for the most part.
Some fun riding with a fair amount of road sections, kinda thankful for them as fast rolling tarmac made a change from draggy slow mud, giving a chance to spin the legs up and cover some distance with ease. You know your in for a tough one when half way round you're already wishing it was the end ... however, physical challenge aside there was some otherwise fun bits of riding. I hope it's not so wet next year though.

    Wasn't all mud and grey...
    Pretty Cotswold country side.
    Was not fun
Steep, relentless and steep, and long, and painful. Oh boy it hurt so much!! P1020464.jpg

sounds tough ,would be good in hard frosty ground , but that seems to be rare these days

Yea having some odd seasons recently! Few days without rain and it would probably be much better! Still, a great challenge to have completed.
