two vans three cars loaded up with bikes and kit headed down the M4 ,then M5 to bridgewater then onto A39 to minehead where our base was ,....we rode 12 mile route Friday involving 1800 ft of ascent , the descent off the south west coastal path was quite fast with switch backs near the bottom ..... Saturdays ride was the MBR killer loop 21 miles and 3,700 feet of ascent , starting with brutal climb of hawk coombe , mostly pushing but the descent of horner wood made up for that , then another push up towards stoke pero ...onto webbers post and great singletrack on luccoombe hill followed by long climb up to dunkery beacon over open moorland ...the descent into porlock was bonkers ..fast and loose then back to the ship inn for some ales
